Building Performance Testing
We’re certified to conduct performance tests to ensure a building or system is properly functioning as intended and meeting compliance with California’s Title 24 Energy Code. We coordinate with project teams throughout a project’s development to maintain seamless completion of tests and verifications.
Multifamily ECC Verifications: Formerly known as the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), the updated Energy Code Compliance (ECC) Program is a required compliance process used to verify that building systems meet California Energy Code (Title-24, Part 6) standards. As ECC-Raters, we verify and test new construction, alterations, and additions across residential and nonresidential development.
Custom-home ECC Verifications: Formerly known in California as the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), the Energy Code Compliance (ECC) Program is a required compliance process used to verify that building systems—such as ducts, HVAC, and insulation—meet California Energy Code (Title-24, Part 6) standards. As certified ECC-Raters, we verify and test custom-built single-family homes throughout Southern California.
Air Balancing: Comfortable and reliable spaces require efficient HVAC systems. Air balance testing ensures that systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with design specifications. Examples of air balance tests include grille-by-grille airflow measurements, static pressure readings, and range hood airflow testing.
Acceptance Testing: We are certified mechanical and lighting controls acceptance test technicians. Mechanical acceptance tests are mandatory verifications of HVAC and equipment. Also mandatory, lighting controls acceptance tests verify the lighting systems and equipment to be properly installed and function as designed.
National HERS Ratings: Outside of California, other states use the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index Score, a national standard system by which a home’s energy performance is evaluated. HERS Ratings verify the energy performance of a new home to ensure it meets the minimum national standard. As certified RESNET Raters, we are qualified to perform HERS Ratings nationally in every state for new construction, alterations, and additions across residential and nonresidential development.
Energy Consultations and Building Certifications
We’re certified to perform various certifications to recognize a building’s achievement of sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental measures. Our certifications and energy audits can be provided for both new and existing buildings.
Building Certifications: We are certified to provide LEED, ENERGY STAR, and GreenPoint Rated certifications. Certifications symbolize a building’s commitment to sustainable energy and efficiency, health quality, and cost savings.
Large Compartmentalization Testing: This testing evaluates a large building’s air leakage and the degree of its air tightness. Properly sealed buildings can reduce energy consumption, enhance indoor air quality, protect sensitive equipment, and improve overall operational efficiency. Large compartmentalization testing is typically provided for large warehouses, staircases, or manufacturing/healthcare facilities.
